Most of the new names at El Dorado Hills Town Center this fall sit at old addresses. A restaurant, a soda shop and a butcher have each moved into a storefront that used to be something else. The places that didn't exist in any form a year ago are mostly elsewhere: a retail center on Latrobe Road, a coffee truck parked at a church, and a mile of trail under the power lines between El Dorado Hills Boulevard and Beatty Drive.
The split matters if you're planning an October weekend. Town Center is still where the calendar lives. The new places to eat, sip and walk are spread across the rest of town.
The Town Center addresses that changed hands
Here's how three Town Center storefronts have turned over in 2026, based on Sacramento Business Journal, Folsom Times and Town Center's own directory.
| Address | Previous tenant | New tenant | Status as of early October |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4355 Town Center Blvd., Suite 114 | Almighty Bistro | Native + Nomad | Open since June |
| 4364 Town Center Blvd., Suite 108 | GradePower Learning | FiiZ Drinks | Grand opening scheduled Oct. 3 |
| 4370 Town Center Blvd., Suite 110 | Avantus | Kings Meats | Listed as coming soon, no date |
Native + Nomad is the clearest example of a swap that kept its roots. It took over the former Almighty Bistro space, and Nick Dedier and Alexa Hazelton, who ran Almighty Bistro, run the new concept too. The Business Journal reported in mid-June that it had opened that week, with coastal-inspired plates, tacos and salads.
FiiZ Drinks is the first California location for the Utah-based specialty soda chain, run by franchise operators Danielle and Eloy Soto. Its storefront is 536 square feet, in what used to be a GradePower Learning space. Town Center's event calendar set the grand opening for Oct. 3. As of this writing, the center's directory page still says "Coming Soon," but that page went up in late August, before the opening date was announced.
Kings Meats is the third swap, and the one with the least public detail. Owner Casey King is preparing a 4,000-square-foot second shop for the family butcher business in the former Avantus space. The April announcement didn't give an opening date. Town Center still lists it as coming soon, along with a second Posh Bagel at 4380 Town Center Blvd., Suite 130.
The one new building at Town Center this year is a hotel. The 115-room Aloft El Dorado Hills Town Center at 965 Mercedes Lane opened June 25, according to the hotel-development tracker Lodging Development. If family is flying in for the holidays, there's now a hotel inside Town Center itself.
South of 50, a retail center built from scratch
Head down Latrobe Road and the picture changes. The Carson Creek retail project, at the northwest corner of Latrobe Road and Golden Foothill Parkway, is new construction. Tractor Supply Co. anchors it and is already open.
Mountain Mike's Pizza opened at 4456 Golden Foothill Parkway this summer. It's a 2,400-square-foot restaurant owned and operated by Ranjit Singh and Sandeep Kaur, who also own the Cameron Park and Placerville locations. Next door in Suite 120, El Dorado Hills' first Jersey Mike's Subs was scheduled to open at 10 a.m. on Sept. 16. Folsom Times put that shop at 1,286 square feet when the lease was announced in February.
There's more room to fill. In February, Folsom Times reported that Starbucks was expected at the center, that three shop spaces were still available and that a letter of intent was pending for a drive-through pad. In September, the Business Journal said no other tenants had been announced. Until someone confirms otherwise, the Starbucks is a maybe.
Nearby on White Rock Road, Rey's Taqueria opened in January at 1121 White Rock Road, Suite 101. It serves tacos, quesadillas, burritos and breakfast and has the same owner as Rey Mimosa in Cameron Park. The same road also lost a longtime spot this fall. 36 Handles Public House at 1010 White Rock Road, in Montano De El Dorado, poured its last day on Sept. 26.
New places that don't look like storefronts
Some of this fall's additions don't fit the usual shopping-center pattern at all.
Proxy International Coffee Co. held its grand opening Sept. 26 at 931 Lassen Lane. The Sacramento Bee describes it as a coffee truck with a customer lounge inside the Vintage Grace church. Heather Hodson and Jennifer Wingfield run it, and the business says its profits support groups helping orphaned children in Ugandan refugee camps.
North of the highway, The Posh Bagel opened at 3389 Bass Lake Road in the Sienna Ridge center, serving bagels and breakfast sandwiches. That means Bass Lake Road got its Posh Bagel before Town Center did, since the Town Center shop is still listed as coming soon.
On Green Valley Road, the former Purple Place at 363 Green Valley Road is becoming Lake House, an American bar and restaurant led by El Dorado Hills residents Eric Rushing and Thomas Holzmann. As of Folsom Times' July report, the menu, hours and opening timeline hadn't been announced.
The trail neighbors were walking before it was a trail
The most literal case of the town growing at its edges is the Powerline Recreation Trail. The El Dorado Hills Community Services District describes it as a new 1.1-mile east-west trail linking El Dorado Hills Boulevard to Beatty Drive, and notes where it came from:
"Community members had informally used this corridor as a walking route for years."
Formalizing the route closed a connectivity gap the District's 2021 Master Plan named a top community priority. Construction finished July 27, and the CSD's Aug. 12 update says the trail is fully open. If you walked the old informal route, here's what changed:
- A 50-foot prefabricated pedestrian and bicycle bridge now crosses a seasonal stream.
- A 55-foot timber retaining wall runs along the Butterfly portion of the trail.
- Two crosswalks with traffic-control signs mark the Hensley Circle crossings.
- New wayfinding signs show where you are along each segment.
- The trail ties into a county Class 1 bike path near the El Dorado Hills Boulevard entrance, and a 0.3-mile sidewalk links it to Promontory Community Park.
Other park work is still in progress. Stephen Harris Park is being renovated with six pickleball courts, two tennis courts and a basketball court. The CSD's Sept. 25 update said work was on schedule for fall completion and listed concrete work for Oct. 8 and 9. For now, the playground and the parking on the Tam O'Shanter side stay open, while the court area, the Riviera Circle lot and nearby paths are closed. Peter Bertelsen Memorial Park reopened May 18 with a firefighting-themed splash pad, a shade structure and restrooms. The larger Bass Lake Park is further off. The District's July update scheduled land-use and environmental review steps for this fall and construction for 2027.
An October that uses both halves of town
New places to eat are spreading out, but most of the shared calendar still runs through Town Center and CSD facilities. Several dates pair well with the new spots above.
- Saturday, Oct. 10, 1 to 3 p.m. The CSD's Pumpkin Splash Patch at the Community Pool.
- Saturday, Oct. 17, 3 p.m. Rocktober Fest at Town Center's Marshall Amphitheater, with live music, food and brews.
- Sunday, Oct. 18, 9 a.m. Free Yoga in the Park at Promontory Park. Preregistration is required. Promontory is the park at the end of the sidewalk link from the new Powerline trail, so you can walk the trail on the way.
- Saturday, Oct. 24, 5 to 8 p.m. Tastes of Town Center, an open house with tastings, samples and demonstrations at more than 25 participating businesses. The Atrium Gallery holds an artist reception for its "Beauty and the Beast" exhibit the same day in Building 102, and the show runs through Nov. 15.
- Friday, Oct. 30, 4:30 to 7 p.m. The CSD's free Trunk-or-Treat and Scarecrow Contest in the CSD Pavilion parking lot.
Tastes of Town Center lands about three weeks after FiiZ's scheduled opening, so it's an easy chance to try the newest Town Center tenants in one evening. For a weekday lunch, the newer options are a drive away: Carson Creek on Latrobe Road, Rey's on White Rock Road or Proxy on Lassen Lane.
Looking ahead, registration for the CSD's Cookies with Santa on Dec. 4 and Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 5 opens Nov. 2. Town Center has holiday carriage rides on its calendar for Dec. 11 and 12, from 4 to 8 p.m.
